ARISTOCRACY

Aristocracy is a form of government that places strength in the hands of a small, privileged ruling class. The term derives from the Greek aristokratia, meaning 'rule of the best'. In practice, aristocracy often leads to hereditary government, after which the hereditary monarch appoints officers as they see fit.

Answer:

Aristocracy:

"Aristocracy, government by a relatively small privileged class or by a minority consisting of those felt to be best qualified to rule."

As by the Greek philosophers Plato and Aristotle ,aristocracy means the rule of the few best—the morally and intellectually superior—governing in the interest of the entire population. Such a form of government differs from the rule of one (by a monarchy or by a tyrant), of the ambitious, self-interested, or greedy few (oligarchy or timocracy), or of the many (democracy or mobocracy). Because “the best” is an evaluative and subjective notion.

e.g. In French Nobility, 1st and 2nd estate were called Aristocrats.
