Portia is heroine in merchant of Venice .She is very intelligent and beautiful girl whose marriage was decided on casket and Nerrisa is her servant or lady in wait so Portia is better than Neerisa.

Portia is the heroine but nerissa always gave her the company.... Portia would rather be a lonely woman without her......she would not get that satisfaction that Bassanio would come one day to win her....but nerissa always gave support in this regard
