Chinna Marudhu and Periya Marudhu were the residents of Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu. These brothers were known for their fearless rebellions against the east India company. Trained in Martial Arts, they were known to have killed tigers without even using their hands.
This gave them the fearless status and they came to be known as the lions of Sivaganga. In 1789 the Marudhu Brothers attacked sivaganga which was under the grasp of the Arcot Nawab and retook it. It is also known that they invented an alternative of boomerang called Valari.
