Edward Jenner is credited to lay the foundation of vaccinology because he was the first person to produce vaccines.

He noticed that while small pox was spreading, the milkmaids did nit catch the disease. This led him to vaccinating very dilute solutions of the milkmaids’ blood into the bodies of the affected as well as affectted people and he was successful in fighting the disease.

Small pox now has been eradicated from the world.
