→ Born in 1950, he is the fourth PM of India belonging to a different political party (Bharatiya Janata Party) other than Congress, who is serving two tenures consecutively.

- He chairs cabinet meetings and coordinates the work of various departments. His decision will be final if there is a disagreement between departments.
- He also has the power to remove ministers. If the prime minister resigns, the entire ministry leaves. So the prime minister is the most powerful person in the cabinet.
- The prime minister gives out and redistributes the work of ministers.
- He carries out general oversight of various ministers. All ministers work under his leadership.
- They can become a member of one of the assemblies of the Indian parliament- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
- The Prime Minister of India is the head of the executive branch of the Indian government. The prime minister is the principal adviser to the president of India and head of the Union Council of Ministers.
