Gulliver is person from England first a surgeon and then captain of several ships.
Gulliver reach Lilliput by swimming ashore after shipwreck.
After being blown off course near Van diemen's land his ship hits the rock and a small boat he and several attempt to use to escape is swamped by waves.
And after that he seems to be only survivor and is left to swim which he continues till reach the a small island which is Lilliput.
