Answer:

Aristotle is known as the Father of Biology.

Aristotle was a Greek Philosopher of ancient Greece, who had a vast reserve of knowledge of a lot of subjects. His teacher was Plato. He was the tutor of Alexander, the Great.

Aristotle was the first person who studied biology in a systematic manner. He has greatly contributed to the field of Zoology. His observations and data, that can be derived from his books, History of Animals, Generation of Animals, Movement of Animals, Parts of Animals, are of great importance even today. He described various marine organisms like frog fish, electric ray, octopus, etc. He presented the Aristotle Growth Law that relates the brood size of an animal with gestation period, considering the body mass, as a factor. Aristotle’s writing at many places gives a hint of Evolution. He also hinted at the concept of Genomics in Biology.
