Lencho

Lencho is a hardworking yet poor farmer who lives atop a lonely hill. He has sown his whole field with wheat crops. Lencho is waiting for a good rain so that soon after it, he can start his harvesting. He wants a good harvest so that he could sell his crop and get the money he would need for his family.

Lencho is a very religious man. When he lost all of his crops in the heavy hailstorm, he at first felt dejected but later on asked God for a hundred pessos as he felt that God could only help him in bad situations.

As the story goes on....

Lencho's letter reaches the postmaster who who understands the complete faith he bestowed on God. So he and his fellow men collect as much as they could by even contributing some of their salary. Somehow, they collected 70 pessos and sent it to him.

Lencho is cross at the amount he got. He says that God must have sent him 100 pessos but 'the crooks at the post office' must have stolen the 30 pessos.

The story describes the invisible helping hands we all have in our difficult times that we do not see. We just see the flaws or even the main result and forget completely about small deeds that has helped us. The employees of the post office are these lending hands in the story of Lencho.
