Mr. Oliver was an Anglo-Indian teacher who used to teach in school ,3 miles away from Shimla. He was a bachelor and was staying alone in the school premises. His leisure activity was to walk down to the Shimla Bazar every evening and return after dark by taking a shortcut from pine forest.
