Presently, the name of the new governor will be Mr Shantikanta Das. He is an IAS officer from Tamil Nadu.
He is the 25th governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Previously, he was one of the members of the 15th Finance Commission.
He has also served as one of the members of Economic Affairs Secretory of India, Revenue Secretory of India, and Fertilizers Secretory of India.
