Mrs. packletide is a women who is jealous of loona bimberton and is not satisfied with whatevevr she has. She is trying to be famous and successful like loona bimberton and at the end she has to pay the high cost for it.

Mrs. Packletide wished to kill the tiger becoz  she had heard that recently Loona Bimberton has been carried by an aeroplane upto 11 miles by an Algerian aviator. So, the jealous feeling of Mrs. Packletide was the reason that she wanted to kill the tiger. And also she has decided in her mind that she would give lunch to her at her house in Curzon street and also she would gift her a tiger-claw brooch on her next birthday.
