THE presence of pollutant SO2 has caused damage to taj mahal
taj mahal is getting discoloured bcoz of air pollution.the mathura oil refinery produce pollutants like sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide these oxide reacts with water vapours to form harmful acids such as sulphuric acid and nitric acid. these acid mix with rain and fall down as asid rain. the acid rain corrodes the marble of Taj mahal this rain turns the colour of white marble to pale yellow
