A political minority is the political group which does not have majority in a country. They are differentiated from the majority or the dominant group or groups.

Political minorities are usually parties specific to certain regions, religions or beliefs. They are usually found to oppose and press the majority or ruling party, for their demands.

Minorities in general, are the groups that are less in number. Most countries of the world, especially India, have several legislations to address the rights and issues of minorities.
