The City of Seattle was named after the Native American Chief from the Duwamish (Dkhw'Duw'Absh) Tribe. His was nobly born to parents from both the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes and he was recognized as a great leader by most Native American Tribes in the area.

Answer:

The Great Spirit is referred to as the God of the natives.

The Great Spirit has forgotten his people because Suquamish tribe has almost become extinct and their number is declining rapidly. The Great Spirit is no longer a father figure to them.
