In my point of view the nightingale itself is responsible for it's demise ...
Because even though the frog was witty and wanted to regain his respectable position in singing , if the nightingale would have used it's own common sense and would haven't distracted it's mind towards the flattering words of the frog , then it (nightingale) wouldn't have had met with this fate...
