Sher Shah Suri (1486 – 22 May 1545), born Farīd Khān, was the founder of the Suri Empire in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, with its capital in Sasaram in modern-day Bihar. He introduced the currency of rupee. An ethnic Pashtun, Sher Shah took control of the Mughal Empire in 1538.

Sher Shah Suri , also known as 'Sher Khan' was born in 1486 in Sasaram, Bihar . Sher Shah Suri 'S original name was 'Farid Khan '. His Father name was Hasan Khan Suri , who was the Founder of Suri dynasty. On 26 June 1539 Sherkhan faced humayun in the battle of chausa and defeated Humayun. The GTR commonly known as Grand trunk road was built by Sher Shah Suri in 16th century AD , which starts in Kabul, Pakistan and and continues in Pakistan near Peshawar. Sher Shah Suri was died on 22may, 1545 at kalinjar fort , and Sher Shah Suri was buried near, Sher Shah Suri tomb - Hindustan , sasaram.
