In his fourth Test in Australia, Rishabh Pant has gone where no Indian wicketkeeper has before – scoring a hundred on Australia soil.
Pant, 21, reached three figures on day two of the fourth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground to surpass Farokh Engineer‘s 89 as the best score by an Indian wicketkeeper in Australia.
Pant had not managed a big score in six innings on tour, but today marched to his century as India marched towards a huge total. The milestone came when he swung his 137th delivery wide of midwicket for four. Pant’s second Test hundred took his run tally past Virat Kohli’s 282.

During the 2018-19 Australian test series, Rishabh Pant set a record by becoming the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a century in a test in Australia. This young wicketkeeper took 137 balls to do the same.
He scored this century on Sydney ground by smashing a boundary towards midwicket.
Before R. Pant, former Indian wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer had the record of highest score on Australian soil when he scored 89 runs in Adelaide in the year 1967.
Rishabh also became the only Indian wicket-keeper who has two Test centuries outside Asia.
