Maggie is the angel in disguise. The author has reflected various images as imagery through the story, the story of a poor,homeless and orphanage who has been left all alone by the villagers after the funeral of her mother,farmer jones had took her brother john and Mrs. Ellis had taken her sister kate but no one wanted to take little helpless child Maggie,she was gazing at the door out of which all had just gone,except Mr. Thompson and at last the pitied face of the little could not stop him and he took her with him.He brought her to his home instead of knowing about her ill tempered wife Jane that she'll be angry.
Some times jane Thompson was angry but soon she accepted Maggie.In this way the poor motherless child came into the life of the childless couple as an angel in disguise and fill their life full of happiness.
