Actually It matters on what is your approach towards the word scientist.A scientist is the one who researchers on the thing he pursues.

He/ She can be a biologist, chemist, physicist, mathematician, cryptobiologist or even a social scientist ( this social one seems newbie in front on scientific scientist though ).

So basically all the scientists who have a noble prize in their respective field can be in the category of best.It's just about what they are in.

Although some big names are Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Tarence Tao ( This man got a super IQ though), Marie Curie and this list just goes on and I am also mentioning my personal choice and that is none other than Sir Max Planck.
