1.he is not answerable to any law court for excercise of his powers ,except in case of impeachment


2.he can pardon , remit or suspend a sentence of punishment given by a court martial or a death sentence passed by the court

  • Executive Powers:—

1. The president appoints the Prime Minister and the council of Ministers, Appoints Governors, Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court and High court etc.

2. He is the Supreme commander of the Armed Forces.

3. He sends and receives ambassadors to and from other countries.

  • Legislative Powers:—

1. He can summon and prorogue either house of the Parliament.

2. He can dissolve the Lok sabha and order fresh elections.

3. He can address a joint session of the Parliament or each one of the House separately.

  • Judicial Powers:—

1. The President of India is not answerable before any court of Law for the discharge of his duties.

2. He has the power to grant Pardons,or suspend a sentence of punishment or any appeal for mercy.

3. He can commute even death sentence to imprisonment for life or otherwise.
