The chief minister is appointed by the GOVERNOR of a state. He/She plays an IMPORTANT ROLE in formation of the CABINET. He enjoys the CONFIDENCE of the STATE LEGISLATURE. He is the PRIME SPOKESMAN of the government. He is the LEADER of VIDHAN SABHA or LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY. He distributes different PORTFOLIOS to his MINISTERS.
