Since July 2016, India 's education minister is PRAKASH JAVEDKAR. Actually there is no such post as Education Minister in India. Prakash JAVEDKAR is the "head of MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT ". The Ministry of Education was replaced by MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT in 1984. PRAKASH JAVEDKAR replaced Smriti Irani.

There is no post such as Education Minister of India now. The Ministry of Education currently is under Ministry of HRD. The current HRD (Human Resource Development formerly education ministry) minister of India is Mr. Prakash Javadekar....
