Why he is known as Father of Nation ?
He is known as Father of Nation because, India had a great freedom struggle against British.
Many leaders sacrificed and fought for freedom. But in this struggle Mahatma Gandhi played an immense role by starting many movements like Non Co - operation movement, Civil disobedience movement and Quit India movement etc.
Mahatma Gandhi was born in Porbandar, Gujarat on October 2 in 1869. His full name is Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi. His parents were Karam Chand and Putliba. He was shot killed by Nathuram Godse on January 30, 1948.
