Amazing question, cause the answer is something I never expected and hence thank you for brining this up. First ever century for India in one day internationals was scored by Kapil Dev, on 18 June 1983 at Nevill Ground in tunbridge wells in UK during Prudential World cup. Kapil Dev made 175 that day, unbeaten, breaking the record for highest individual one day score in the process.
