Dudley Shelton Senanayake who served four terms as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka was the eldest son of the first Prime Minister Rt. Hon D.S. Senanayake. He assumed office of Prime Minister on March 26, 1952 to fill the vacancy created by the demise of his father and was re-elected at the general election in May 1952.
