Robert Hooke was the founder of cell.

In 1665 when robert hooke was studying about the cork cells through a self designed microscope. He observed small compartments,honey-comb like structure he called them cell which is a latin word and its meaning is "a little room".

Leeuwenhoek in 1674 discovered free living cells in pond water.....
