Shri RamNath Kovind is the current president of our country.
He was backed up by BJP in 2017 presidential election and defeated Meera Kumari, his opponent who was backed up by Indian National Congress.
He is the 14th one to take the position replacing Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
He took the oath on 25th july 2017
He has also served as governor for Bihar before taking the seat in Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi.
He is very calm and a gentle person who famously hails from a Dalit community
Professionally, he is a lawyer and pursued LLB.
