The current president of India is Shri. Ram Nath Kovind. He represents the Dalit section of Indian voters and has been president since 25th July 2017.
He had previously served as Governor of Bihar and has also been Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from 1994 to 2006.
He is the second Dalit to be elected to the post of President.
