On 6th May 2015, the Lok Sabha passed the Bill to introduce Goods and Service Tax (GST).

Seven months after the formation of modi, finance minister Arun jaitely introduced gst bill in lok sabha where the bjp has majority. In February 2015 jaitely set another deadline of 1 April 2017 to implement gst. It started because the tax replaced existing multiple cascading taxes levied by the centeral and state government.
