Desh Bandhu Gupta was born 18th February 1938, he is the founder and chairman of multinational pharmaceutical company Lupin Limited. He got a master's degree in chemistry from Bombay University. He started his career as a associate professor in Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Rajasthan. Gupta started Lupin Limited company in 1968 with a start-up capital of Rs. 5,000. Gupta was borrowed that money from his wife.
