Answer:
Stanford “Ford” Pines is my favorite Gravity Falls character because he’s a pretty relatable and complex individual.
Ford is different than any other fictional character because he’s the result of an unconventional premise: “What if that weird, geeky kid in school grew up to become a complete badass- but he was still weird and geeky?”
He’s a character that goes through significant change while remaining true to himself. Ford is the kind of person who can endure an interdimensional odyssey and battle demons in the hellish Nightmare Realm- but he still enjoys the little things in life, like a game of “Dungeons, Dungeons, and more Dungeons” (Gravity Falls’ version of “Dungeons and Dragons”). Above all, he wears his strangeness proudly and does things his own way, like setting fire to his facial hair because it’s faster than shaving.
At the same time, he’s also a very flawed, human character. Ford’s unrelenting pursuit of the truth costs him his relationship with his brother, Stanley, and the sanity of his brilliant-minded assistant, Fiddleford McGucket.
Also, Ford trusted Bill Cypher and built a means to let him unleash the ungodly horrors of the Nightmare Realm on the world.
That was a bit of a mistake…
In short, Ford often did the wrong thing, but he eventually learned to make amends and to trust the right people. He became a better person, but he never let go of his trademark eccentric nature.
And Ford is voiced by J. K. “I’m the man who’s going to burn your house down- with the lemons!” Simmons. How could you not love him for that?
