I don’t really think there’s much of a choice here. Most of us first discover Robert Louis Stevenson’s pirate classic, Treasure Island, when we are children. That being the case, the only character we could possibly identify with is the juvenile cabin boy and narrator, Jack Hawkins!
I do remember being fascinated by Billy Bones though, he seemed very mysterious hiding out at the Admiral Benbow Inn. He was kind of the 18th century buccaneer version of the equally piratical Julian Assange.
