He killed himself by gunshot on 30 April 1945 in his Führerbunker in Berlin. Eva Braun, his wife of one day, committed suicide with him by taking cyanide.
One thing we know for certain - as of December 2015, he's almost certainly dead. (He'd be going on 127 if he were still alive.)
Did he die in the bunker? There's no way to know for sure - fire destroyed the evidence. If he did, did he shoot himself, or did his wife shoot him, then use poison on herself? Only time travel would provide a definite answer. (I'm not a conspiracy theorist - I'll accept that either he died in the bunker or he survived, escaped and lived a quiet uneventful life. Which is the truth doesn't matter to most people - the dead are still dead and the survivors still survived a horrible experience (even the ones not in the camps, the ones who just [as if it's really "just"] lost whole families).
