Rani lakshmi bai or also known as Jhansi ki rani led the revolt from the front. She fought bravely and almost defeat enemies. But somehow rumours is someone from the inside known as traitor by the title opened the gate and let the enemies led inside the fort. Revolt against Jhansi was led by Rani Lakshmi Bai.

During 1853, the Britishers wanted to take over Jhansi as the king had no son as the heir to the throne. Lakshmi Bai fought against the British with other revolutionaries of that period. So it was Jhansi ki Rani Lakshmi Bai who led the Sepoys of the 1857 revolt that sowed the seeds of India's struggle for independence.So the revolt was led by rani laksmi bai.
