Answer:

Malik Kafur led Ala-ud-din's Deccan invasions.

Explanation:

  • Malik Kafur, also known as Taj al-Din Izz al-Da, was a prominent informal slave/slave-general of Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khilji.
  • It was brought by General Nusrat Khan of Alauddin during the invasion of Gujarat in 1299.
  • As commander of Allauddin's army, Kafoor defeated Mongol invaders in 1306.
  • After this, he led a series of campaigns in the “southern part of India” against Yadav (1308), Kakatiya (1310), Hosales (1311) and Pandya (1311).
  • During the year of 1313-1315, Kafur was employed as the Governor of Devagiri's Allauddin.
  • When Alauddin got seriously ill in 1315, he was called back to Delhi and was named as Naib (Viceroy).
