The account of Solidarity, a Polish non-governmental business union was launched on August 14, 1980, at the Lenin Shipyards by its founder Lech Walesa and others. At the beginning of the 1980s, it became the primary independent labor organization in a Soviet-bloc country. Solidarity gave beginning to a broad, non-violent, anti-communist educational development that, at its height, commanded some 9.4 million constituents. It is contemplated that after the rise of solidarity communism had fallen sharply.
