Peasants organized movements against Talukdars and Landlords in villages under the leadership of Baba Ramchandra.The movement was launched by the peasants as the landlords demanded high land revenue and taxes.

The peasants demanded reduction of land revenue and abolition of beggar.Movement- Nai-dhobi bandh were organised by panchayat to deprive landlords of the
services of even barbers and washermen.Congress support to Awadh peasants – The Oudh Kisan Sabha was set up headed by J.L. Nehru, Baba Ramchandra and a few others. Over 300 branches of it had been set up in the villages around the region.
