Under the leadership of Lenin Shipyard on 14 Aug 1980 in the city of Gdansk (Poland) the workers of Lenin Shipyard set a strike against the policies of the government. Most of the people who participated in that strike were the workers who were removed from their jobs for no reason. After the struggle Lenin Shipyard signed a 21-Point agreement with the government which gave the right to the people to form independent trade union. The first trade union formed was *Solidarity* it was the most prominent trade union.
