Who made himself head of the English church in 1533/1534, after being excommunicated by the Pope?​

Henry VIII, but he wasn't actually excommunicated until 3rd January 1538 by Pope Paul III.

He was threatened with excommunication in 1533 by Clement VII. Again a decree of excommunication was drawn up in 1535 but suspended, in the hope that Henry would desist from his schismatic acts.

The 1538 excommunication is not about Henry's marriages, but about his destruction of the shrine of St Thomas Becket at Canterbury, his pulling down of St Augustine's Abbey, and other attacks on the Church.
