Someshvara (1042 – 1068) the king of Western Chalukyas made Kalyani his capital in South India.
He was well known by his people as "Ahavamalla" or "Trilokamalla". Someshvara came to throng after succeeded Jayasimha II his father. He became very famous and successful in Central India and ruled a vast empire.
Someshvara was also a noted historian, great poet and also a scholar.
