Ahoy!
----------
There are two types of plant movement:
• tropic movements.
=> these are the growth movements.
=> these have got their types as well which are:
- geotropism ( by gravity)
- phototropism ( by sunlight)
- chemotropism ( by certain chemicals)
- hydrotropism ( by water)
- thigmotropism. ( by touch)
• nastic movements.
=> these do not result in growth and are associated with a response to certain stimulus resulting in changes in turgor ( the hydrostatic pressure changes.)
=> these movements are found to be of various types as well.
- nyctinasty ( by temperature and intensity of light)
- cheminasty ( by certain chemicals)
- seismonasty ( by touch)
