• Dutt fling to stardom in the 1957 film Mother India in which he co-starred with Nargis as her short-tempered, furious son. At the time of the making of this movie, a fire occurred on the set. It is suspected that Dutt bore the raging fire to save Nargis and thereby won her love. They got on to wed in 1958.
