Jawaharlal Nehru presented the Objective Resolution on 13 December 1946. He presented the resolution for offering the guiding principles and philosophy to frame the Indian Constitution. This later became the Preamble of Constitution of India.  

The resolution was unanimously and formally adopted on 22 January 1947 by the Constituent Assembly. It declared India to be an Independent Sovereign Republic with all its territories and autonomous units.
