Who proposed the theory of natural natural selection ? Why was this theory criticized

Theory of natural selection was proposed by a biologist, Charles Darwin. It was criticized because it didn't take into account a number of other factors. Also, according to religious bodies, it went against the faith that God created the world and all forms of life.
