In the country of India there are two Vernacular Presses that publish religious texts, namely kesari and maaratha.
While they do not do it anymore, they have a rich history in the politics of India with Kesari, being established as a newspaper back in 1881 and playing a huge part in the overall sociopolitical development of the country.
The maaratha newspaper was published a bit later but both by Lokmanya Tilak.
