Answer:The postmaster read the letter. He saw Lencho's faith in God was so powerful so in order to save his faith, He decided to help Lencho. He saw that Lencho needed money so, he gave part of his salary, asked his employees for money and his friends also participated in the name of charity. But unfortunately he couldn't collect 100 pesos but only 70 so he put them inside an envelop with a note signed as God and kept it for Lencho.

Explanation: In the story "Letter To God" Lencho had lost all his crops due to hailstorm. So with despair he wrote a letter to God requested 100 pesos. The Postmaster was a fat and amiable man who laughed first at seeing this but then got serious. He wanted to preserve the faith of god in Lencho so he started collecting some money to help Lencho out. He gave a part of his salary as well as got some from his employees and other friends in the name of charity. He addresed a letter and send it to Lencho with the sign "GOD".
