Panchalankurichi is a village surrounded 3 km from Ottapidaram and 18 km from Thoothukudi in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, India.

Panchalankurichi fort was under the rule of Veerapandiya Kattabomman. It was annexed by the British empire and destroyed by Major J. Bannerman.

Vijaya Raghunatha Tondaiman  betrayed Veerapandiya Kattabommanand and gave all the details to the Britishers. He played a pivotal role in Polygar Wars that lead to arrest of Veerapandiya Kattabomman and his brother Oomaithurai by the Britishers . When truth was revealed, he was hanged at Kayatharu on 16 October 1799.
