Benjamin Andrew Stokes OBE (born 4 June 1991) is an English international cricketer and vice-captain of the England cricket team in Test cricket.[2] A left-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium swing bowler, he has captained the England team in both Tests and One Day Internationals. Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Stokes moved to northern England with his parents at the age of 12,[3] where he learnt the game and began playing club cricket for local teams.[4] Stokes was part of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup, winning the Man of the Match award in the final.
