Answer:
War against diseases is the greatest war today. Only good doctors can produce a healthy nation. Without proper health,a soldier becomes useless and the teacher is unable to produce the best in him. A doctor serves the country during peace and war and he is the one who works round the clock.
I have been a soldier for 27 years and a teacher for over ten after my military life. Both are immensely valuable and meaningful professions - in either you never have to be conflicted on “Purpose” - its crystal clear - for the Indian Army Officer it is to defend your nation with incredibly committed Indian soldiers, who are an absolute inspiration. For the teacher, it is children, as you walk into class every day.
Impossible to compare the two. One is the present - clear and present danger - and the other is the opportunity to shape the future of the nation and the world.
Where the soldier scores slightly higher, in my book - is his unflinching commitment to give up his life, if needed, for the cause - I have seen it often enough in Siachen - on the Line of Control and in counter terrorism operations in Kashmir.
