Solution :-
Rajagrih was the capital of Magadha during the reign of Ajatashatru. Ajatashatru was an ambitious king who soon started a war with the confederacy of Vajjis in Vaishali, towards the North of Magadha. During the course of this war, Ajatashatru decided to build a fort at a crucial location on the Ganges river near a village called 'Pataligrama'. Later this garrison fort grew into a proper city and Ajatashatru shifted his capital there and this city became famous as Patliputra.
